Degree recognition: frequently asked questions.
What is degree recognition and why does your graduate need it?
It's the destination country's official recognition of the degree. Without it, a graduate cannot practise a regulated profession —medicine, engineering, architecture, nursing— in Spain or the Gulf, no matter how much experience they hold. In Spain it's granted by the Ministry of Universities; in the Gulf, by regulators such as the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) or the SCFHS.
Which professions can be recognized with Booka?
The regulated professions with the most international mobility: engineering (civil, industrial, electrical, mechanical), architecture, medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, veterinary medicine and law, among others. Engineering and architecture are recognized in Spain and the Gulf (SCE); the health professions, in Spain and the Gulf.
How long does degree recognition take?
It depends on the destination country and the profession. In Spain, the resolution usually arrives in 4 to 6 months, depending on the regulator. In the Gulf, Primary Source Verification (PSV) takes 15 to 45 days and the professional license 3 to 5 months depending on the specialty, depending on the receiving country.
How does white label work for my school?
Your school has a portal with its logo and domain. The graduate uploads their documents and follows their case status as a service of your school; they never see Booka. The Verifier Agent verifies the degree at the source and the Regulator Agent files it with the destination-country regulator.
What does my school need to start, and how soon?
